face of my character
my first attempt at my character face started on paper using a guide after that i used digital painting to to do more
The sketch i prefer was the fourth one because it fits with the theme of it being set in Victorian London time with the the top hat he is wearing and eye glass. A also i can further develop the top to help fit the the steam punk genera.but i also like how the facial hair for the third one is help give the look that my character will be a detective.

 steampunk research
source information https://steampunk.wonderhowto.com/forum/welcome-steampunk-research-development-0138875/
steam punk is science fiction genre which feathers advance technology and machines base on steam power from the 19th century and get taken place in historical period or fantasy world
Steampunk is the use of mechanise gears and steam in sic-fi genre in a historical setting. Most steampunk take place in the Victorian area with but includes advance technology. steampunk was influence by 19 century scientific romance which is now used in Sci-fi
Steampunk is a sub genre of science fiction although it originated in with cyberpunk genre, steampunk was often set in the 19 century British Victorian American wild west  when the industrial revolution introduce steam-power machinery. Most steampunk is recognisable as a retro- futuristic invention by the 19 century victorious and how they would have envisioned them.

Steampunk as incorporated other genres like fantasy, horror, alternative history and other this would make it a hybrid genre. Hybrid genre is when a fictional genre that blends themes and elements from two different genre.

steampunk idea
steampunk normally incorporate elements from different genres such as horror and fantasy but most steampunk is set 19 century time during the industrial revolution.these time were the set of most novel in the fantasy , horror genre such as:Moon dance, house of corruption and touch of wolf.these books incorporated werewolf's so for my steampunk also incorporate a werewolf but i also intrigued by the cyborg aspect.

these my first few attempt at drawing a head  of a werewolves with tradition pen and paper
the first drawing is of is of my normal werewolf but the second one is of the first drawing but with the steampunk genre added.

project proposal
Games research-Dishonored 2

Dishonored 2 is an action-adventure stealth video game developed by Arkane studio and publish by Bethesda softworks on 11th November.
Dishonored artist is Sébastien Mitton , Sebastien Mitton incorpertated steampunk by using 19th centuary arcutect and advance technology with the use of steam and electricity.

this is one of Sébastien Mitton concept art he did for dishonored 2 this is influence because it use cybernetic aspect of robot but with steampunk Incorporated and has parts covered to give it shape, so i can used to have the inside of steampunk character robots with the outside of it has it skins but with a few parts missing to show the robots aspect which will incorporate steampunk.

body proportion
even thought my concept art is of an werewolf i did conduct research on the human antonym and developed,a werewolf would body is more muscular and larger plus the werewolf normal stand with there legs bent and taller than normal than a human
the second one if an werewolf and i used the antonym from the picture to study and do the body of an werewolf

this use the same shape from the late but has been further developed in Photoshop to show the muscle structure and joints that are on a werewolf body.most time werewolf would have torn clothes but because my is of an cyborg any clothes will be replace the steam punk machinery.

real life drawing
today i did real drawing using a website called Lime of action were you get a certain amount of time to draw a model from a secondary source using the Reilly method i learn't on the torso

The Reilly method
with the Reilly method we did torso's, the first two we my first attempt at doing the Reilly method so that i would get use on how to do it.
the method done by first drawing the head then including a neck and shoulder, then from the neck draw a line presenting how long the torso is and how it will be angled.
after that i connect the end of the torso with the shoulder forming a triangle shape
then using the side the faces i draw'd two line coming down representing the neck then bringing the line out to show the hips.
this is what i did to get in habit of drawing torso like this so then for my final one i could further develop it to make it to make it loo more muscular to fit my steam punk character.

 real life drawing

werewolf head problem
while doing the real life drawing and putting my steam punk character into a pose i encounter a problem, i found it difficult to do the head. so the first thing i did was i draw some head of werewolf.

i notice while doing the drawing the top of my werewolves head did not fit with the ears i draw,so i practice different ears trying to find the right shape to match a wolfs ear, once i got the correct shape i drew two opposite each other then connected them to form the top of the head.

once i could do the top of a werewolf i started to do eyes so i can get the look of an werewolf after that i started on the mouth, at first i found the mouth the most hard to do on my first three sketches, so for this i started on the top of the mouth and then connected with the jaw.with i could also do the nose and the mouth.

while i was doing the mouth i decided to use the mouth as the starting point for my werewolves head which then i could combined it with the top of head which i practice with.

werewolf anatomy
 arm

using this picture i started to practice on werewolf arm, instead of drawing it from my head i used dote and line to show the pose of the arm, then i drew circle going from one dote to the other to show the joints.after that i joined them up with the correct anatomy in which i used the sketch image.

Werewolf pars and legs

after the arms i then used the same method for the arms to do the legs

for the pars i used this guide to create the pars of the werewolf
the first step was to draw the boundary of were the hands and finger meet
then i drew line representing the figures first i staring with the middle finger to show the highest point then i including the rings finger making sure it doesn't go over the middle and isn't too small.for the index finger it need to be just reach the top the ring finger, but the pinky finger need to be half the length of the middle finger.

the third step was to draw the pars shape by using the index finger as a start point i drew a straight line down then curved in for the wrist then continued it on toward the pinky finger.
with the shape of the par i could then using the line that are curved in to show the wrist and and thumb
after i had all the line for the fingers and thumb i could start with there shapes
by first drawing curve line on thumb from different joints but for the fingers drew a circular shape surrounding the finger line to show the size
once i had the general shape of the finger and thumb i used the top of the pars to show were the figure join together
with the finger line i used to outline the hide skins of par because this hand is of a werewolf so most of it will be fur, on the top of the finger will be large plus i including sharp claws

for the final part i went of the main outline with a darker pencil so i can rub out line that i don't need any more.
werewolf feet
once i had done the legs for my wolf began on foot, first drew line representing were the foot will be when it' the werewolf is standing still and the one of the end of the line i drew a line going up to show the middle of the foot going toward the ankles with the other side of the line being used as the toes. depending on which foot it is and what angle it is view determine if one toe will be need because that will block the view of the other or small one with bigger one behinds it.once the middle has reach the ankle point that is where you start the heels of the foot.the top of middle foot will be slightly more angle that the bottom middle foot.

artist interpretation
Jacob Atienza

this artist interpretation is on Jacob Atienza steampunk hunter concept
source:https://www.artstation.com/artwork/steampunk-hunter
the art concept many not be incorporating a werewolf but it dose use the robot elements which i'll be using in cyborg parts of my werewolf.plus it also show steam being used by the hunter which i intend on using in my final piece.

human pose
these are pose i am going to place my character in
side view
 front view
 back view

these were influence by Egyptian god Anubis who is associated with the afterlife he also has the same look what i base my character a werewolf body and head.

fur texture
using this guide i did my first attempt at fur texture for my wolf first by painting the back ground with the main colour i want the texture to be, then i started to shade in line to the hair in extreme low opacity.after that i add highlight to add the look that the sun is shinning with a low opacity white between the line of the shade.after that i including more shade under the fur i used a brush with multiple small dots to give detail that the strands of hair.final i added more shaded line, some going cross each other to show different hair strand on top of each other as would be seen on a head of hair.

the guide i use was affect but i took to long and it did look right so i found faster way.by using custom brush with random dots and low opacity brush i did several strokes on my body. i even used a white colouring to show highlights.

Metal texture
for my metal texture i used a low opacity soft brush with a braes colour i painted in the square box
the braes was the main colour and to add the look of steampunk i add small shade of brown and yellow to give it that look of a old main
Colour I Used
these are the verse colour i used on my steam-punk character the brown represents the metal from cyborg parts and i also add a dark edge to add on to my metal to show that it machine in my character has been used and that it is not new.the grey is main skin colour of my werewolf, i decide to use a grey dark  because his is a dark character most dark aspect used a dark tone.the black i used mainly for shading to show the joins in body with use outlines and to show the type of body he had. the red was mostly used in the mouth and tears in the skin the darker part of the red i used deeper in the the cuts and the mouth.the use of dark colour is to show that my character is a dark person.

Graphic Novel
Graphic novel is term used to describe bound narrative that tell a story through art which can also be know as comics but unlike comic books graphic novel are more stand-alone stories with complex plots. graphic novel art style consist mainly of outline drawn by pencil then gone over in pen as well as having shading. some graphic novel or comic book can be found without any colour , most Japaneses manga book rarely have colour.

character angels
my character has a lot of pointed line with different this would make his charterer shape a triangle which also work because my character is evil.
Final Piece
All three poses

Evaluation
This project was my final projected I was task to create 2d a steam-punk character in three different pose, a front view, a side view and a back view. I created werewolf with cyborg parts in the style of steam-punk by replace certain parts of the werewolf with the look of a 19th century machine.
While I was researching various steam-punk concept arts I was influence by Bruno Camara cyber-punk in which he used cybernetic parts in the style of 19th century mechanical machines being replace on the body. As I continued researching I also learnt of graphic novel that would incorporate steam-punk and other genres such as horror and fantasy. so I planned on incorporating a horror genre by including a werewolf in my final piece I also planned on using the graphic novel art.to help me understand my project I first needed to research on steam-punk itself so I can understanding how the cybernetic aspect of my character should look .I then research werewolf anatomy and proportion to understand how I could draw the body in a graphic novel art style. The only issues I had was the body anatomy on the werewolf so to overcome this I research werewolf anatomy .my research was mainly done on the computer which was my main material because of the huge range of information that could be found. My anatomy research I used research images and tutorial on werewolf body so I could practice on being able to draw the body I also practise on human muscle so I can correct draw the muscular figure of a werewolf. I also used pencil and paper as one my material to practice drawing on the anatomy, I used different soft and hard pencil first drew an oval in the size of the certain body parts with a sot pencil. And with the hard pencil I used the outline from the soft pencil to draw the leg shape in the correct size.
The main software I used was Photoshop to create the three different pose and with my understanding of werewolf anatomy. I begin by first planning out the body by using low opacity and drawing it out, Then I used the increased the opacity and went over the plan line. But I also wanted to stay in the graphic novel art style; the graphic novel art style uses a pen outline to show the main body and has high saturated colours with shading. First I used a low opacity to give me small guide of how the body should look. I used the guide I create on paper pencil on Photoshop, once I had a small idea look of my werewolf I went over them in more detail outline. But to show detail in body I used a shading technique, first by low opacity and flown down 5% then I used a large brush and started to move the brush in direction of the area that needed shading. After that I used the same low opacity and flow brush but with main colour of my werewolf which was a dark grey to colour in side of the shade to give that look of dept. also used shading to also be used as outline in the cyborg parts, but for this I could increase flow and make the brush smaller. Then I used to show the border between the machine parts and body. But for the machine I first colour the metal with one main colour which was braes. then I add small shaded of lighter and dark patch to give that look of a 19th century machine as well including bolt to add to the look.as for the fur research I fur guide on the internet I found one to use as my werewolf texture and I did experiment using the guide. But when I came to the final peace I learnt the guide took too long to do on the body. So instead I created a custom brush in which I had place dots in random location, and with a low opacity brush I started to stock the texture.
The main art style I used was graphic novel which use pen outline to show the body and uses a high saturated in colours as well as shading. But I was influence by Bruno Camara cyborg 3d modelling which influence me in creating a character the steam-punk cyborg because I enjoy the look of it cyborg had, how there different parts making it work. I also learnt that cyborg parts do not need to have any futuristic look because most steam-punk is set in Victorian time so I have machine parts have the sold look of an old 19th century machine.
Both Photoshop and tradition drawing were effective in my final piece because the practice I did on tradition drawing and research on the computer help me understand the anatomy of the werewolf. And uses the technique I learnt I then incorporated in to Photoshop and in Photoshop I could use the shading technique, with these technique I had the correct look of a werewolf. Then I could add the cyborg parts by use very small shaded outline to the border between the machine and body without uses large outline. These techniques were appropriate in graphic novel art story because they are done in sketch style on tradition pencil and paper first and then gone over in ink, this I how I started my concept art. The few problems I had was that sometime certain parts of the body appear long or shorter that they should. But I used the lasso tool correct by cutting the body the certain body parts that needed correcting and the making them the correct size, I used the joints the body part as a borderline to cut out and I had to choice what size I wanted the body part. I also I had problem with my fur the guide I used would take too long and looked out of place so made custom brush but that had a problem to. The brush instead of leaving straight lines it would leave small circus which would running the look. I corrected this by going into brush tip shape and lowing the spacing to 1%
For this project I need to research steampunk to know what the look would be for my cybernetic part. With this information I did a head experiment first by drawing out a head of a werewolf . And after that I place some steam punk asset by removing parts of the skin to show the mechanical parts, these mechanical parts used gears so I place gears. Also add a few metal plates and a metal chassis to be used as it Skelton. Once I had completed the drawing I could then do it in Photoshop to add colour. The second research was the werewolf anatomy and both of these research I did I understand how to drawn a werewolf body in the pose I wanted and then I place the steam-punk cyborg aspect I did in my experiment.
For my final I like how the body turn out because look I like actually werewolf and I did need to use outline on the joint which could have ruined the look. I also like how mechanical parts fits in with it body, but what I do not like is how the side poses head look too wide.to further develop my final piece I would have added more cyborg parts by including more replace the fur with metal plate or adding gears that could be sticking out.to make the easier instead of colouring in the whole body when I was done with the outline, I could have left the area which I was going to replace with cyborg parts to help save time. If I had more time I would have spent more time on my side pose head to make it look less wide. During the project I managed to keep in track of my project plan, I also did experiments I include fur experiments from the guide I found off the internet. I also include the metal experiment showing style I wanted the metal on my final piece to loo, these can be found on my blog. All the research I did on werewolf anatomy I used to make a guide so I used that guide to do the werewolf’s body this can be found on by blog as the history of steam-punk different artist I research on.
